5 Central Texas Farmer’s Markets You’ll Want to Visit

Who doesn’t love a nice Saturday morning stroll through a farmer’s market? Fresh vegetables, baked goods, cold drinks, homemade food, fresh-cut flowers, crafts, and fun for the kids? The likelihood of discovering a new favorite dish is strong. Better yet, farmers markets are a wonderful way to support local businesses and learn more about businesses in your city.

1. Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market

This one actually takes place on Wednesday evenings. Since most farmer’s markets happen on the weekends, it is a nice mid-week treat to shop, eat, and listen to a local musician. Right off the highway, the Dripping Springs Farmer’s Market is easy to access and boasts a number of wonderful vendors.

2. Barton Creek Farmers Market

The Barton Creek Farmers Market takes place every Saturday morning until 1 p.m. Located in the Barton Creek Mall parking lot, the sprawling market hosts a number of vendors perfect for picking out fresh vegetables and enjoying breakfast.

3. Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller

While you are in Austin on the weekend, check out the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller. Just steps away from the Thinkery and a park, this farmer’s market offers the shade of the old airport hanger, and vendors aplenty. There are often activities for the kids like face painting as well.

4. Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market

In its 10th year, here’s one you can visit on Thursdays! The Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market is located in historic Fredericksburg and offers a wonderful beginning to the weekend.

5. Wimberley Farmer’s Market

Finally, don’t miss out on this mid-week gem. Wimberley Farmer’s Market offers vendors galore. If you haven’t visited Wimberley, the farmer’s market is only one reason to make the drive!
