San Antonio’s Alamodome Will Host a Mexican National Soccer Match

By  |

On January 31, the Mexican National Soccer team will face another team (currently unknown) in a match leading up to the 2018 World Cup (which will take place in Russia.) MySA.com writes that it will be “…Mexico’s fifth in the Alamodome…” and will kick off the 16th annual U.S. tour for Mexico.

San Antonio mayor Ron Nirenberg told the news, “We’re excited to continue to grow San Antonio’s soccer resume, and welcome the wildly popular Mexican men’s team and their enthusiastic fans to our beautiful city.” KENS 5 points out that this will be a great opportunity for American fans to watch a bid for the World Cup since the United States team did not qualify to move forward.

On the Alamodome website, the stadium explains that even though the opponent and match time will not be announced for a while, fans will want to mark their calendars to make sure they score some great seats when tickets go on sale on Halloween (October 31) at 10:00 a.m. Tickets can be purchased on MexTour.org or on Ticketmaster’s website. If you’d rather call to get seats, dial 1-800-745-3000. Also, be sure to sign up to get on the Alamodome mailing list to learn about any offer codes or pre-sales happening at the stadium.
