Do you have what it takes to be on TV for your amazing (or incredibly bad) singing voice? KSAT reports that “American Idol” auditions will take place in both San Antonio and Houston for the next season for the hit primetime show. On the 2nd of September, the crew will set up in Houston, and on the 4th, the auditions will be held in San Antonio.

But talented hopefuls no longer need to camp out to sign up on the day of try-outs. In fact, most locations don’t allow people to line-up before 6 p.m., and they definitely don’t want contestants camping out overnight. Singers can now register online through ABC’s “American Idol” website. It’s explained that “you can audition in a variety of ways, including by posting a Social Media Audition Video to your preferred platform (i.e., Instagram, Facebook, Musical.ly or Twitter), uploading an audition video to the American Idol® Online Audition portal, attending one of our auditions.”

Of course, the in-person auditions can still be time-consuming and stressful for those who are striving for their chance at stardom, but for many, the experience of being part of an iconic American TV show is well worth it.

Mic.com says the Katy Perry will become a judge in the new season, and Ryan Seacrest could be returning as the host.
