New Bar to Open Up in Austin Offers Patrons Crafting Supplies
Coming soon to 234 West 2nd Street in Austin, Texas is Upstairs Circus, a bar with an arts and craft twist! If you enjoy the painting and bring-your-own-wine combination that many studios offer, you’ll be interested to know that Upstairs Circus takes things a step further with delicious in-house made cocktails and a “project menu” where you can choose what you and your friends will work on while you sip what Upstairs Circus’s website calls “creative juice.”
According to Austin 360, Upstairs Circus already has locations in Denver and Minneapolis. “If this place follows the model of the other locations, it’ll have small bites, like mixed nuts and truffle popcorn, available for purchase, but hungry patrons will likely be able to order food from nearby restaurants as well,” they write.
Though the Austin-specific “menus” aren’t uploaded to their website yet, one can check out the Denver menus to see what Austinites have to look forward to. When it comes to the drink options, patrons can choose from cocktails with fun names like “bubbles the champagnzee” and “beer’ded lady”, and the project menu offers items (that vary in length of time between 1-2 hours) like a “stamped charm necklace,” “Warhol-esque pop art,” and “concrete coasters.” Check out both of the menus here.
