Released through Music City Records and produced by singer/songwriter Billy Yates, “Music in My Heart” can be purchased by Pride’s fans online on iTunes and Amazon as well as in physical CD form wherever music is sold. Recently featured by Billboard Magazine, the singer has upcoming interviews with the Associated Press and Huffington Post and was also featured in a spotlight article by Thor Christensen of Guide Live from The Dallas Morning News. Billboard’s quote on the popular country artist’s latest release was, “Charley Pride’s vocals are just as soothing to the soul as a glass of Granny’s tea and those pair of shoes that you always find yourself drawn to…..just like returning to the well.”

The multi-Grammy award winner’s career took off in 1969 making it necessary for Pride to consider relocating to a larger city center which was close to a major airport. In weighing out the best options for his family, he chose Dallas, Texas, due to its progressiveness telling Guide Live, “I grew up in a segregated society, and I didn’t want to subject my three kids to that. We picked out what we thought was the best place for the kids and also for traveling around the world, and you couldn’t find a better place for that than Dallas.”

At the 2017 Special Merit Awards held in New York City on July 11, Pride accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Recording Academy at a ceremony and live tribute concert held at The Beacon Theatre. Pride will also be performing as part of the show, and while he’s in New York, will be promoting his new album release on the CBS Evening News, ABC News’s “Live From The Couch,” SiriusXM, Access Hollywood, and more. On July 15, he’s also scheduled to appear as part of the Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show in Nashville, performing both new and older songs. When asked about his continued success by Guide Live, he explained, “People say: ‘Charley you still got it. Don’t ever stop singing.’ Now, if people stop saying that, get a hook, I’m gone. I’m not going to reach for something that’s not there anymore.” Pride has ongoing success in country music because he sings for his fans filling the concert halls and releasing the type of music they relate to and love. It’s no wonder he’s still going strong 51 years after first signing in Music City, USA.
