Home to some amazing things such as Pace Bend Park, Krause Springs, and even the great Willie Nelson himself, Spicewood, in the Texas Hill Country, is also home to Cypress Valley Canopy Tours, and the opportunity to soar through the Texas trees like an eagle!

With cypress-scented air blowing through your helmet-covered hair and the sound of a “zip” as you make your way from platform to platform, it’s a sensation like one would imagine Tarzan experiencing…minus having to grab the next vine. With a bird’s eye view of the Texas Hill Country and a speed limit of roughly 30 mph, you’re bound to feel a rush, surrounded as you are by nature and wonderful views to glide through.

Shared on their own YouTube Channel, this video of the experience to be had at Cypress Valley Canopy Tours is second to none in terms of adventure, tree-top thrills, and bold leaps into the fresh air! A brainchild of its co-owners, the property is designed as an eco-theme park of sorts, made from steel zip lines which are installed high up within the canopies of the area’s cypress trees. “Zippists” or “Zippers” – if that’s what they’re referred to as – wear harnesses which are hooked to the support cable and glide from tree to tree. Situated on an 88-acre haven in the Texas Hill Country, it sure seems like a haven here on Earth that allows man to fly like a bird, knowing his safety is ensured by all manner of mechanism and human support possible. Thirty minutes west of downtown Austin is where the magic happens. Reservations are required and group/individual tours are available (not to mention birthday parties). Spend a day literally zipping through the tree tops of the Texas Hill Country and see what the excitement’s all about!
