The San Antonio Cocktail Conference is hosting bartenders and mixologists this weekend to share their worldly knowledge of spirituous liquors with enthusiasts in the area with a full schedule of seminars, tastings and, yes, parties.

All proceeds from the event will benefit local charities who help children of need.

The event’s hosts welcomed its vendors and partiers alike yesterday at the historic Majestic Theatre, serving a dinner of Grilled Beef Tenderloin with truffled parsnip and carrot purée to go along with its announcements of fun for the days ahead. With the event poised to become the SXSW of mixology, participants will enjoy the future of “cocktail masterpieces” in addition to cuisine from Texas Hill Country chefs around San Antonio at top spots like the St. Anthony Hotel.

The “Beso De Agave” multi-event pass will net liquor lovers entry to events like the Build-Your-Own Cocktail party, and a Claire Bertin-Lang seminar where the industry vet will wax on the history of and relationship between  pop culture and our most country’s famous cocktails.

And a small glass of neat whiskey never did anyone a bit of harm, so why not hop aboard a river barge and sip your favorite southern beverage as Treaty Oak Distilling tells tales of whiskey preparation and bottling?

These are among just a few of the events at the three-day conference which Paste Magazine is calling “the future of cocktails.”

Multi-event passes are $385 and the event runs now through Sunday.
