Who says you have to travel far and wide to find the beauty of nature in the Texas Hill Country? If you find yourself in need of the perfect picnic spot but don’t want to spend hours in a car, then make your way to the Blue Hole in Georgetown. Like giant hands cupped together limestone bluffs hold the waters of this swimming hole like a secret treasure awaiting discovery.

After exploring downtown Georgetown, amble just five blocks from the hustle and bustle to find the cool waters of this South San Gabriel River lagoon waiting for you. While away the day with your bestie, family, or special someone, soaking in the sun. Bring a book, a camping chair, and your water shoes. Grab the camera for a chance to catch nature in action or capture a memory or two. Grills and restrooms are available, but no lifeguard is on duty, so swim at your own risk. The park is open from dawn until dusk. Blue Hole Park, West Second and Rock Street, Georgetown.
