Every month (except January), for more than 30 years, Old Gruene Market Days has been held in the Gruene Historic District. On the third full weekend of each month, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, this market features over 100 vendors and artisans with offerings in unique crafts, handmade items, and tasty Texas food fare, making it hard not to walk out with an armload even if you simply went for that “one thing”.

With free parking and admission, as well as free live entertainment, visitors can enjoy specialty shopping, tour the historic district, do a wine tasting, try some unique dining, and generally make a great day of it! The live entertainment is often local and adds another dimension of enjoyment to the entire day. And while you’re there, you can also take in other events, check out the Guadalupe River, and visit Gruene Hall. With the exception of January, each month the Old Gruene Market Days showcases local talent, crafters, and artisans offering hand-crafted leather, artwork, Texas photography, canned goods, spices and dips, jewelry, kids’ clothes, and a number of other handmade items under tents in front of Adobe Verde – a great eatery serving authentic Mexican cuisine along the Guadalupe River in Gruene’s Historic District. The tents are set up along Hunter St. in order to take advantage of the shade (for those hardcore Texas summertime market shoppers!) Come on out to Old Gruene Market Days on the third full weekend of every month and take something home handcrafted in the Texas Hill Country!
