This week will be a relaxing week in the Texas Hill Country. The last few weeks have been hectic around the area, but have calmed down a little, making this week a week for strolling through farmers’ markets, taking the family to a county fair, or watching a movie in the park. Here is your Hill Country Happenings leisurely line-up:

Fredericksburg Trade Days Shop hundreds upon hundreds of vendors for “Antiques, collectibles, tools, crafts, shabby chic, primitives, ranch furniture, hunting accessories, candles, unique clothing, jewelry, food and so much more.”. You are sure to get a little exercise strolling through seven barns full of goodies for sale. Pari-Mutuel Horse Races Haven’t been to a horse race in awhile? This summer, Gillepsie County Fairgrounds is hosting horse racing the whole family can enjoy featuring a full slate of live quarter horse, thoroughbred races, special races, and trials. Race weekends include dancing, entertainment, a variety of food, and drinks. The Race Barn, a pari-mutuel simulcast building, will be open for greyhound, thoroughbred, and quarter horse races from all over the country. Adults $7; Children 6 – 12 $5; children under 6 are free.
