The results may no longer come as a surprise since it’s remained the same six years in a row, but it’s good to know that Houston Methodist Hospital has ranked number one once again as the top hospital in the Lone Star State. ABC 13 explains that the ranking comes from U.S. News & World Report who take patient care and outcome, nursing, and safety measures into consideration.

In a press release, Methodist president and CEO Dr. Marc Boom said, “Year after year, this confirms that we are leading medicine, providing our community the highest quality medical care, research and education for almost 100 years.”

According to the hospital’s website, Houston Methodist is nationally ranked and recognized in eight categories of medicine: “Cardiology & heart surgery, Diabetes & endocrinology, Gastroenterology & GI surgery, Geriatrics, Nephrology, Neurology & neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Pulmonology.”

These rankings, along with the high-quality Medical Center campus in Houston, help to keep patients feeling secure about their care. On Facebook, Houstonians are singing the hospital’s praises. Alison Palacios wrote, “My dad was just there a couple of days ago and our experience as a family and my dad, as a patient, was exceptional.”
