The anticipation is over…the hotels are up, and the restaurants are raring to go in honor of Super Bowl LI ready to hit the stage. It has been 12 years since the thriving metropolis of Houston hosted Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. To say a lot has changed is an understatement.
Where once there were parking lots now lies the center of a 10-day festival being taunted as “Super Bowl Live” to be held in one of Houston’s crown jewels called Discovery Green. It’s just one of many events lined up to host the over 1 million visitors expected to descend upon the booming Texas town over the next few weeks.
Probably the most anticipated event, besides the Super Bowl itself, set to take the stage is Super Bowl Live. A signature nine-day free festival that will run from January 27, 2017 – February 5, 2017, at Houston’s Discovery Green. It will encompass a jam-packed lineup of some of the biggest names in music today, such as ZZ TOP, Gary Clark Jr., and The Suffers, as shared by its website. A focus on local Houston and Texas talent was garnered for the main stage. Visit housuperbowl.com for a complete lineup.
Houston area food trucks with a variety of menu options will be on deck for all the fans attending to grab a bite. In addition, according to the Super Bowl Host Committee, they are partnering with NASA and leading aerospace companies to bring “Future Flight, the signature attraction of Super Bowl LIVE,” states housuperbowl.com. “Future Flight combines a virtual reality experience with a 90-foot drop tower that takes passengers on a trip to Mars and back, landing just in time for Super Bowl LI.”
