We’ve all been there. You have company over and someone requests a bottle of white, but it’s been sitting on your counter top and it’s nowhere near chilled. Putting wine in the fridge to cool can take an hour, and even putting the bottle in a bucket of ice can take 20 minutes to chill all the way through. This helpful life hack will teach you how to chill a bottle of wine in mere minutes! This trick takes your room temperature bottle of wine to 40 degrees in just seven minutes or less.

You’ll be amazed at just how simple this is. Aside from your bottle of wine, you’ll need an ice bucket (or any bucket for chilling), ice, water, and salt. Yes, that’s all it takes!

Put the wine bottle in the bucket and then fill it up with ice. Next, pour a glass of cold water into the bucket with the ice. Then comes the secret ingredient: salt! Pour about a cup of salt into the water and ice, and stir it gently around with the wine bottle.

After about seven minutes, you have a perfectly chilled bottle of wine. Then all you have left to do is pour, serve and enjoy the fruits of your easy labor.
