The 9th annual “toughest show on dirt” is coming back to North Texas on February 24, featuring three Texas competitors you’re going to want to keep an eye on.

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) WinStar World Casino and Resort Iron Cowboys will be at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on this date as a highlighted feature and one of four PBR Majors in the 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast season. A high-profile event that will see national television coverage, the Iron Cowboy has been a PBR mainstay for some time now, and this event marks a number of visits to Arlington, bringing rodeo fans from across the nation to the Lone Star State.

Hosting the world’s Top 40 participants, the Iron Cowboy will feature competition in a ride to advance format. If the rider can stay on their bull for the minimum requirement of eight seconds, they remain in the competition. If they get bucked off, they’re finished for the day. Those that continue to ride will do so until a final winner prevails, thus being declared the Iron Cowboy. Points and prize money, in the vicinity of $250,000, are at stake.

The three Texas riders competing in this format include Cooper Davis, 2016 PBR World Champion and native of Jasper, Cody Teel, 2012 PRCA World Champion hailing from Kountze, and trailblazer Keyshawn Whitehorse from the Woodlands, who’s been in over 100 competitions since making his debut in 2016. He’s been featured in a number of publications and programs highlighting his talent, and we’re watching for great things to come for this young Navajo rider.
