The largest city in the Panhandle, Amarillo is ideal for Kumon’s expansion. “Kumon has a rich history in Texas dating back almost 30 years. We are beyond excited to welcome the first Kumon Math and Reading Center in the Texas panhandle and look forward to providing the highest level of education to the community,” said Larry Lambert, vice president of franchise recruitment for Kumon North America.

In fact, Kumon’s programs in Texas have assisted 24,260 students at 136 centers, with their first location in the Lone Star State opening in 1989. The Kumon Method works to empower kids to become self-learners. It’s designed to advance reading and math skills while simultaneously fostering an appreciation for learning. It establishes a pattern of success, sparks critical thinking, and builds the child’s confidence, which can lead to accelerated learning throughout the rest of their life. Any program with a mission such as this is a welcomed tool in the arsenal of furthering a child’s passion for learning.
