The team that created Lake Travis Zipline Adventures (LTZA), known for the longest zipline in Texas, has just launched Lake Travis Waterloo Adventures (LTWA). The new adventure opened its doors on Friday, June 29, offering guests “The Ultimate Lake Experience,” including a floating obstacle course and water park, access to a private resort-style beach in the Texas Hill Country, and a boat ride to and from Adventure Island which is located in Leander.

The “Floating Challenge Course” is designed for everyone from beginners to experts. The 600-foot water playground offers a wide array of obstacles that are both challenging and fun. This includes monkey bars, climbing walls, slides, bridges, hurdles, balance beams, and much more. Guests to this amazing floating feature must be 7 years of age and at least 45-inches tall. Tickets are $50 per excursion, which includes a day at the beach playing games, exploring, and swimming. Those who don’t feel challenged enough by this exhilarating course on their first go-round can purchase a second session for an additional $10. Other water attractions in the Aqua Park include a 14-foot climbing tower, a springboard jumping tower, a free fall waterslide, and an epic 25-foot trampoline.

As exciting as this all sounds, “The Ultimate Lake Experience” wouldn’t be complete without some rest and relaxation. Adults making the trip can relax on a hammock or lounge chair in the shade, enjoying the spectacular views of Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country. And if hunger is an issue, Adventure Island has got that covered with a variety of food and beverage options, including wine, beer, and those tasty frozen drinks that make a Texas summer something we look forward to.

While this new floating water park feature is fantastic in itself, the possibility of whiling away a day on 1,000 feet of Texas Hill Country lakefront, soaking up the sun, and taking in the incredible scenery is really the opportunity of a lifetime. A visit to Adventure Island is practically akin to an exotic vacation, right here in our own backyard! It’s filled with the type of activities in a dreamy location that one generally only gets to read about or see on social media. Lake Travis allows for this type of vacation spot to exist. It ties in nicely with the opportunity to swing through the trees with the greatest of ease on ziplines that range from 300 feet in length to more than 2K feet. Couple that with some hiking adventures led by a professional tour guide and you have the makings of a vacation your kids will be telling their friends about!
