If you’re a member of the Chip & Joanna Gaines fan club, and you unabashedly hashtag everything #fixerupperfanatic, you need to make the trip to Waco to visit the infamous Magnolia Market. The Gaines family is one with a focus on faith and following their dreams, and that they did with this magnificent masterpiece of merchandise-holding silos (and then some). Couple things: apparently when you’re on your way there, you’re joining a multitude of those who are in “fan mode.” Anticipate a wait to a) park, and b) get in the front door. That being said, you’re heading there because you want to, right?! Enjoy, because the experience is worth the wait.

You May Go Into Magnolia Market Overload!

When you first walk in, the sudden urge to see “EVERYTHING” will hit you. Ride the wave. Breathe in, breathe out, and pace yourself. You’ll get your chance to see everything from antiqued furnishings to zodiac wall hangers (see how that whole “a to z” thing worked in there?) Magnolia Market has a medley of household items that will be music to your…eyes.

It’s A Family Affair

Going to Magnolia Market isn’t just for the household DIY maven. It’s a full-on family experience in its entirety. The market includes a humungous lawn with lawn chairs and games, and it’s all quite eclectic and quaintly put together.

More to Waco Than Meets the Eye

If you’re making the pilgrimage to Waco just to see Magnolia Market, you’ll miss the many other things that Waco also has to offer like great food options, Spice (a market, not a cooking item, featuring various vendors of household items), and Harp Design Co.-the honest to goodness woodshop that makes many of the handmade furniture items featured on Fixer Upper! If you’re coming from Austin, San Antonio, or Houston, make a DIY day-trip out of it. You might be surprised with what you find, and you definitely won’t be disappointed!
