Blossom recently posted a fun tutorial on Facebook showing how anyone with the time and gumption can make galaxy lollipops at home using hard candy, a couple of molds, corn starch, and of course, additional sugar.

The full list of necessary items needed to make these pretty pops is available on RealMoms.com along with the in-depth instructions. Basically, hard candies (like Jolly Ranchers) are used as the colorful galaxies by breaking them into bits and melting different colors into each other. Then, by mixing corn starch and sugar, the lollipops will have a clear orb to create the otherworldly quality. A dark color is brought in for the sense of infinite space, and then, the most exciting part of the recipe takes place. By blowing hot air from a hairdryer onto the lollipop, the surprisingly detailed design becomes clear and visible. Voila, a galaxy is born!

Admittedly, these suckers are a lot of work. But like ‪Tauni Werhonig‪ puts it on Facebook, “Everyone complaining about how much work it is. You’ve never put a little extra time into something to make it fun and unique? I think these would make a great handmade gift for someone who loves space and stars!‬”
