Have you ever wondered what artist your state collectively can’t stand? Well, this map shows each state’s least favorite musical act based on the lack of plays.

Texas’ choice is Bon Iver, which makes sense, especially if you have to Google who Bon Iver is after reading this post. [Click here to enlarge]

These results are pretty funny and seem surprisingly accurate. If you live in Texas right now, do you know who Bon Iver is? If you don’t, you’re in good company with the rest of the state.

And, by the way, Oklahoma – what are you doing? The Rolling Stones?!

This map was compiled by the Echo Nest and mapped by Musical Machinery, a music intelligence system that polls servers such as Spotify and iTunes, among others, to figure out statistics for companies.

They came to these numbers by “comparing artists listened to more in the general United States than in any particular star. For example, R. Kelly ranks 42nd country-wide when looking at the top 50 artists, but clocks in at 1,029th in Wyoming.”

Do you agree with the overall state list, let alone Texas’ choice? Is there an artist that you think deserves the title of least favorite artist more than Bon Iver?
