Have you recovered from the holidays? Miss the parties and get-togethers and looking for a way to take advantage of the sunny, mild Hill Country winter? Gather a few friends and consider a little winery road trip. Check out the folks at Way Out Wineries – their mission is to bring Mardi Gras to you.

Mardi Gras, Texas Hill Country Style

As their name implies, this little group of wineries is a more spread out than a simple straight shot down Highway 290, but they make up for it with loads of fun and personality. They’ve created fun filled road trip frolics throughout the year to get you excited about tasting their wines.

Mardi Gras, Texas Hill Country Style
First up this year – Mardi Gras. Don your beads, boas and feathers because this here’s a Louisiana style party with a Texas twist. During the first weekend in February (that means Friday, Saturday and Sunday y’all), participating wineries will transform themselves into French Quarter bistros.

Buy your $30 ticket, then proceed to laissez les bon temps rouler down the road into Texas Cajun country. At your first stop, you’ll receive a signature glass commemorating your journey. Each winery will welcome you with plenty of colorful beads, Cajun style food pairings with wine, and complementary tastes from their abundant fruity barrels. Cash in on some discount treasure by drawing from chests of doubloons at each winery for discounts on wine and goodies from that particular winery’s tasting room.
