Mattress Mack Will Host a Free Thanksgiving Lunch For the Houston Community

By  |

Mattress Mack’s giving heart continues to impress Houston, Texas community members with his offer to join him on Thanksgiving for lunch! When Jim McIngvale (also known as Mattress Mack) visited the KHOU studio, he was all smiles while inviting Houstonians to visit Gallery Furniture’s North Freeway location from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. “This is a chance for the entire community to come together and give thanks for all the blessings we have,” he said.

According to the news, there will be an impressive “…5,000 pounds of turkey and ham as well as 625 pounds of sweet potatoes and 900 pies…” to greet guests of the meal. Mattress Mack noted wanting to give back to the community, which has already been through so much, including the remnants of Hurricane Harvey.

Of course, he can’t hold the massive event all by himself, so on the Gallery Furniture website, they’re looking for volunteers to help on Thanksgiving Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It appears that many people have already signed-up as the online form only shows the segment of time from 5:00–7:00 p.m. open. Volunteer opportunities include roles such as greeters, food and drink refill-ers, and pie cutters.
