Right now, over 2,000 McDonald’s locations in the U.S. offer the new McDelivery service, and according to CNBC, “3,500 locations will have delivery capabilities” by the end of June. MySA.com writes that San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston are already some of the chosen markets that will usher in a new way to get fast food.

Though the service obviously won’t be as speedy as going through a drive-thru, it makes it easy for someone who isn’t already out and about to grab a Big Mac. McDonald’s is using the already familiar UberEATS to run the McDeliveries, which will have a fee of around $5, depending on location.

MySA.com quotes Chief Executive Officer Steve Easterbrook as saying, “We’ll bring the McDonald’s experience to more customers in their homes, their dorm rooms, their workplaces and beyond. We see significant potential.” He adds that most of the McDelivery orders so far have been placed at night, and they’re usually delivered in 30 minutes or less.

America isn’t the first place that McDonald’s has tried out a delivery service. In fact, deliveries from many locations the Middle East and Asia make up about 40 percent of orders! “Last year, the Golden Arches garnered nearly $1 billion in delivery sales globally,” CNBC writes.
