Things to Do

New Braunfels Public Library Book Sale is Coming Up

By  |

The 32nd annual Friends of the New Braunfels Public Library, Inc. (FOL) tax-free book sale will be held at the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center (375 S. Castell Ave. in New Braunfels) on Friday, September 22, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (new extended hours) and Saturday, September 23 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. Admission is free.

Sure, the early birds might get the worms, but the tardy birds get the bargains. For the books remaining on the first day and a half of sales, shoppers can take advantage of the traditional brown bag sale. Take a break and return Saturday between 1-4 p.m. when everything stuffed in one of the provided brown bags sells for only $5.00 per bag (regular prices range from $.25 to $2.00.)

Collectible books will vary in price. According to Donna Laux, who works in the Collectibles department at the library, “…this year we have tons of vintage and classical sheet music and lots of vocal scores (popular, classical and operatic) from the Mary Joyce Coreth donation. I understand she taught piano in New Braunfels for many years. We also have many copies each of the books she published. We have extensive and excellent military collections this year, including Civil War, World War II and Vietnam. We also have an abundance of foreign language materials as well as a robust Gone with the Wind collection to include in Hollywood memorabilia. Children’s collectibles include Beanie Babies, American Girl and lovely books from the 1920’s-50’s…”

But Wait…There’s More!
