The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Fredericksburg, in the Texas Hill Country, is inviting lifelong learners aged 50 and up to help kick off their Fall 2016 semester at the Texas Tech University (TTU) Higher Education Teaching Site on Friday, August 26.

Beginning with a social at 5:30 p.m., followed by a seated dinner of salad, King Ranch stuffed breast, rice pilaf, green beans and Denver chocolate cake prepared by My Own Chef at 6 p.m., OLLI welcomes lifelong learners to hear program updates and talk about their upcoming classes with instructors on hand.

With a theme of “Back To School”, the evening’s events allow attendees to have the first opportunity to register for the classes of their choice. With a cost of $30 per person, and limited seating, RSVP’s are requested on or before Friday, August 19. Registration for the event can be completed by visiting www.olli.ttu.edu and clicking on the “Hill Country Site” link.

With a total of 44 courses scheduled for the Fredericksburg, Marble Falls and Junction locations, kick-off event attendees will have their pick of course priorities, as well as the opportunity to become members of the organization. Membership is an additional cost of $30 on top of class fees, which can be found listed in the OLLI course catalogue as well as the website.

Founded by the Osher Foundations, OLLI’s have been created across the country on university campuses in all 50 states. They are self-funded, membership organizations with class offerings in the areas of economics, music, art, health and politics.
