The popular Salt Lick BBQ of Driftwood, in the Texas Hill Country, will soon be opening a second location in Grapevine, Texas. The original restaurant has grown an enormous fan base over its past 50 years operation, and its existing location just 30 minutes southwest of Austin, features an open style BBQ pit which is central to the restaurant.

Their second location will be situated on 10 acres in Grapevine, close to the Kubota Headquarters, which are north of Grapevine Mills Mall. Mimicking their Texas Hill Country site, the new restaurant will be nestled amongst the trees and will have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Featured on Rex Von Arnswaldt’s YouTube Channel, Salt Lick BBQ’s existing location was given its proper dues in the following video.

In an interview with NBC DFW, Salt Lick BBQ owner Scott Roberts said, “We have searched the Metroplex the last 10 years for a site where the look and feel of the place would remind us of the hill country and allow us to recreate the backyard BBQ party we have in Driftwood. We have finally found a hill country home in Grapevine.” Construction on the new location is anticipated to begin later in 2017 and its grand opening will take place in late 2018.
