On February 4th for the 52nd Super Bowl (or Super Bowl LII), Shiner Beer will debut their first-ever Super Bowl commercial. Though big beer companies like Budweiser are expected to have a major campaign running during the national event, 109-year-old Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, Texas has yet to participate until now.

As one would expect, the ad space during the Super Bowl is not cheap. The Star-Telegram says that Shiner spent $1.2 million on the 30-second “This is Shiner Country” commercial. If you’re curious to see what Shiner has in store for the ad, it might play off of their historical rebellious nature (like bootlegging during the Prohibition era) displayed in prior commercials. But the public won’t know for sure what Shiner’s ad angle will be until it premieres during the big game.

Chron.com quotes Gregor Mina, the Director of Marketing for Spoetzl Brewery, as saying, “This is a huge step for Shiner. For us, this is a big financial investment; we want to expand our message to reach as many Texans as we can and what better way to do that than by leveraging a Super Bowl spot with all of the incredible attention that it receives.”
