This year, Six Flags will once again host a Mardi Gras celebration at their San Antonio park which is sure to boost attendance following the lull that tends to come after a long, hot summer. The party atmosphere will be even bigger and better than last year’s event, which was its inaugural hosting, and even though traditional Mardi Gras falls on February 13 this year, the park will roll out the Cajun-inspired red carpet at the end of April, changing your life in a big way.

The festivities are scheduled to commence on April 28 and run through May 28 at Fiesta Texas in San Antonio including themed food, a parade which runs twice daily (featuring authentic floats designed by New Orleans-based Kerns Studios), decorations, and “…beads, beads, and more beads.” For those that are looking for a family-style atmosphere yet still wish to experience all the fun and excitement that comes with a true Mardi Gras celebration, a visit to Six Flags Fiesta Texas is truly in order.

Although previously reported by the Dallas News that Six Flags launched the program in the San Antonio and Mexico parks only, the company had noted that they, “…did not rule out an expansion to Six Flags over Texas in Arlington, the original Six Flags park.” With a serious showcase of Mardi Gras style, food that’s fit for a king (or queen) on Fat Tuesday, and an incredible New Orleans-style vibe, this second annual event at Six Flags Fiesta Texas is sure to be fun for the whole family!
