Every wonder what it is like to travel through space, take a ride on a shuttle, or to see the Earth from the outside looking in? Well, this weekend, you can have the chance to explore the universe without stepping foot in a shuttle. The Wreyford Family Foundation is bringing space to Marble Falls at the Hill Country Space Expo. The foundation makes this event all about kids and their families and does not charge an admission fee.

According to 101HighlandLakes.com, the expo will allow for visitors to experience what it is like to take off, fly, and land a space shuttle through the use of virtual reality goggles. There will also be the chance to view exhibits of space shuttle parts and various artifacts. For instance, one of the featured exhibits is a 150 lb. shuttle bolt with an explosive nut attached.  Oh, but it gets better!

Astronaut Dan Bursch will be on site to tell his stories about his experiences on space shuttle flights 51, 68, 77, and ISS 4.

“In my life, I have had the pleasure of being a member of two of the best teams in the world: the U.S. Navy and NASA’s Human Space Flight program, for whom I completed four missions and fulfilled my lifelong dream of becoming an astronaut and traveling in space. The next best thing to flying in space is to relive those experiences by sharing them with others through personal stories, recollections, and photographs,” Bursch states on his website.
