According to an article by the Palm Beach Post, fans of Texas son Matthew McConaughey now have the opportunity to land themselves the role of a lifetime as an extra in his upcoming movie entitled “The Beach Bum.”

South Florida will set the stage for the bright lights of Hollywood as Talent Powerhouse casts the roles for this upcoming comedy featuring McConaughey and Snoop Dogg. Scheduled to begin filming in November in Miami (according to projectcasting.com), the storyline for this feature film is said to be the misadventures of Moondog (Matthew McConaughey’s character), who is described as “…a rebellious and lovable rogue who lives life large.” Written and directed by Harmony Korine (of “Spring Breakers” fame), it’s producers have recently issued a notice of an open casting call.

Looking to fill all types of roles and nationalities, the project is searching for those of all ages to fill roles such as high-end “Palm Beach types” and various hipsters, several extras for public scenes, hospital staff, and various other prospects. Shooting for the film is scheduled for the duration of four weeks in Miami, Florida, and two additional weeks in Key West.
