New Braunfels was, of course, settled by German folks, who also love to cook great food. So while you’re in town, live a little on the wild side and try some of their traditional dishes, if you haven’t yet done so. Loaded with options to tempt and slake your appetite, pizza, barbecue, American cuisine and café food fare come fast and friendly, not to mention well-prepared. Yelp has provided a convenient link that shows the various top places to eat according to local comments.

Play ‘Til You Can’t Play Any More!

Now the play part is where the fun begins! With no limit to activities in New Braunfels, there’s merely a shortage of time to do them in. Of course, when the weather’s right, the city is a prime location for cooling off in the spring-fed rivers that run through it. There’s also a water park to capture the somewhat short attention spans of the younger generation who may be less interested in slowly tubing down a river, and more into fast-paced water-themed rides and slides. And some of the best Biergarten and antique opportunities this side of Germany happen here, so take the time to wind down with a brew before or after you pick up the next big “treasure” for your home. The city has a website designed to focus on these three things (stay, eat, and play) and so much more, the link for which is provided here. Enjoy New Braunfels, and enjoy some time in the Texas Hill Country!
