How do you top having six consecutive singles hit the #1 spot on Billboard’s Texas Regional Radio Report? Easy, if your name is Jon Wolfe. You simply grab a few of your closest friends, a bottle or two of your favorite adult beverage, and invite everyone over to celebrate with you at Juan Lobo Fest.

There’s nothing Jon Wolfe loves more than his fans (and tequila). So he couldn’t help but keep the loyal “Wolfepack” in mind when he started thinking about what to do next.  “We wanted to keep giving our fans things to look forward to, and things to do,” says Jon.  Thus,  Juan Lobo Fest was born. Building on a moniker given to him by his Corpus Christi fans, it is Jon’s way of officially introducing the name (and more?) to the masses. And what better place to host the inaugural Juan Lobo Fest than Corpus? “After all,” says Jon, “that’s where the name started.”

Set for Friday, April 13 at Brewster Street Ice House, the first-ever Juan Lobo Fest is gearing up to be a big one. From fellow Texas Country artists Kevin Fowler and Hunter Hutchinson to a DJ straight out of Los Angeles, the festival will be jam-packed with music, giveaways and other special surprises. “We just want to make it fun for our fans, that’s our goal,” says Wolfe. And with a second event scheduled at the famed John T. Floore Country Store in Helotes, Texas on May 12, the festival is on track to do just that.  “Initially we want to grow these festivals in these two cities for a few years, but ultimately,” Jon says, “we’re hoping we bring Juan Lobo Fest to Austin and Dallas, and it eventually becomes something that we do all over the state of Texas and then some.”

But Juan Lobo Fest isn’t the only thing that Wolfe has been working on this year. He’s set to release some new music late this year (perhaps a duet with Randy Rogers?) and is also currently working on a tasty new venture. The venture will definitely carry on the Juan Lobo brand and may have something to do with a certain plant native to Mexico. No official word has been released, but from the Wolfe’s mouth to your ear, we should be able to sip on some 100% blue agave Juan Lobo Tequila by this time next year. Yep, you read that right: Juan. Lobo. Tequila. Now that is something we can all drink too.

So make your plans, Hill Country, for what is certain to be a honky-tonkin’ good time.  You can catch Juan Lobo Fest either April 13 in Corpus Christi, or May 12 in Helotes, Texas. Even better, make it a double and go to both. Just make sure to bring some salt and lime, something tells me you’re gonna need it…
