Talkative Texas Teen Gets a Taste of Dad’s Medicine

By  |

When Brad Howard of Rockwall, Texas, threatened his teenage son (also Brad Howard) with attending his physics class if he didn’t stop misbehaving, he may have possibly felt at the time that it was an idle threat – one on which he would never have to act. But on Friday, May 5, 2017, when Bradley Howard Jr. made his way into class, greeting everyone on his way in, he received a familiar greeting in return, which he may not have been expecting.

His son had been receiving regular warnings for being a chatterbox in class, and as a result, Howard was receiving consistent phone calls from the teacher to talk about it. Frustrated, and hoping his son would learn from the warnings and ample discussion, he told him that if he got one more call from the physics teacher, he would personally sit with him in class to make sure he was no longer a disruption.

The 17-year-old junior at Rockwall-Heath High School had numerous warnings from his teacher, as well as his parents, Brad and Denise Howard, however, the final straw came last week when Sr. received notification from the physics teacher that Jr. would once again require a discussion about the matter. This left the frustrated Texas father no choice, and on Friday, May 5th, he attended class with his son to ensure that his chattiness was being kept in check, and to show his son the importance of the matter in that his efforts to help him succeed weren’t simply going to be idle chatter themselves. In an interview with BuzzFeed, the Sr. Howard stated, “My wife wakes me up and says, ‘Brad, it’s time for you to go to school.’ I thought, Oh no, what have I done?”
