Thirty-year-old Arian Foster played in the NFL for eight seasons. NFL.com lists that from 2009 to 2015, Foster played for the Houston Texans and then spent one season with the Miami Dolphins in 2016. Even though he left the Texans for a year, he still holds several records with the team, and fans loved to see him this weekend at the George R Brown Convention Center’s Super Bowl LI NFL Fan Experience.

While signing autographs for fans, Chron.com asked Foster if choosing retirement was difficult. Foster stated that having well-rounded interests made it an easier choice. “I’m going to travel a for a while, enjoy life. Then, work on my other passions, which is arts and sciences. They’re separate – arts and sciences. I’m going to pursue a degree in physics and see where else life takes me.”

UPI.com reports that Foster’s “Twitter timeline is still clogged with thoughts on the cosmos and the theories of men like Albert Einstein and Sir Isaac Newton.” His eclectic passions are inspirational for those who love playing sports but will reach the point in their life when they’re physically unable to continue. It seems like Foster will be more than alright without the spotlight of the NFL.
