Texas Couple Finds Lasting True Love at Their Senior Center

It’s been rumored that you can find your soulmate at any age. Well, a New Braunfels couple has recently shown us all it’s possible late in life by celebrating their wedding at the senior living center at which they met. Allen Seelhammer, who is 78 years young, met Ann Hoover, 87-years of age, at Brookdale New Braunfels upon moving in – just two months ago. Ann became his blushing bride and are starting a new life together.

“If I would’ve written the script, I couldn’t have written it better,” Seelhammer explained. “We just kind of fell in love with each other.” Hoover was drawn to Allen from the moment that they first read scripture together. “He’s just as sweet and funny as all get out,” she said. And, they quickly became inseparable.

In an interview with Fox 26 Houston, Seelhammer said, “She’s spending an awful lot of time in my room.” And, Hoover noted, “I’d rather stay there with him.” In total, it took just 30 days for the pair to decide it was meant to be. “We said, ‘Oh, what the hell,’ and we decided that we’d get married,” Seelhammer explained. Both have been previously wed and he has noted that he never had designs on being married again until he met Hoover. And, she didn’t believe it would be possible to get remarried at her age but noted that her new husband doesn’t seem to mind.

The best quote that came out of the Fox interview (in this writer’s opinion) was when Seelhammer explained that “life begins” when you meet the right person. That’s when Hoover noted, “Who could turn down an opportunity like that? To have someone love you forever and ever, it’s great.” Many happy blessings to the new couple!
