Things to Do

Texas Flower Country Women’s Run is a Unique Chance to Experience Wildseed Farms

By  |

Beginning and ending amongst the gorgeous ground at Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg, in the Texas Hill Country, the Texas Flower Country Women’s 5k/10k runs are taking place on May 12. This unique running event features a 5k loop that travels along a flat, well-maintained course which is noted as being a “…very gentle, non-technical dirt trail…” in the fields, including a scenic stretch alongside the Pedernales River. 10k runners will do this loop twice.

For those who don’t think the beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country wildflowers will be enough, there’s even a champagne brunch following the runs, including free massages, music, and shopping! Race participants will also be privileged to see portions of the farm which aren’t open to the public.

Featuring two aid stations on the 5k course (which means four stops for 10k runners), this race is designed to benefit the Wounded Warriors of Nebo, which is a non-profit organization that serves U.S. military veterans. All event runners will receive a technical shirt (a handy, moisture-wicking piece of clothing for your future running efforts), as well as the post-race meal identified above, not to mention some craft beer if they so choose! Additional guests can attend for meals at a cost of $15 a piece. To register for the event, click on the link provided here.
