The largest of its kind throughout the southwestern U.S., the 15th Annual Texas Steak Cookoff in Hico, Texas, will be taking place on May 19 this year. The event is anticipated to draw crowds from across America. The small town of Hico plays host to everything, including “…artisan vendors, local shopping, and of course, a chance to look on as backyard chefs from all over the Southwest compete to see who cooks the best steak in Texas.”

The Annual Texas Steak Cookoff traditionally begins with live entertainment on the Friday before the main event, held in the Historic Downtown Business District of Hico. Following that, on Saturday, May 19, the food fun commences. The cookoff is family-friendly and features the opportunity for great food, but also the chance to taste some fine Texas wine in the process. A wine tasting has been organized to go hand-in-hand with the event, featuring state wineries and their amazing vintages. Serving lines for food options are anticipated to open at 5 p.m. and top honors for the steak cookoff will be announced at 7:15 p.m.
