Corn on the cob is a staple of summer dinner plates. It’s delicious, and it’s a pleasant reminder of summertime, no matter when you eat it. However, corn on the cob can be a bit of a hassle to shuck, especially with all the messy corn silk.

So what’s the easy and fast way to get corn onto your dinner plate without the mess or hassle? Use your microwave.

Yeah, seriously. Cook the corn with its husk in your microwave for three minutes on high. Then take it out, grab one end with an oven mitt, and cut off the top of the other end. Give the corn a shake, and it should come right out without the hairs or the husk attached. Voila! You’re ready to butter it up and chow down.
