Orphan Tristan Jacobson knew that he had found the family he was truly belonged to, so he began selling lemonade to help with adoption fees.

The Davis family, headed by matriarch Donnie Davis, started a fundraiser on YouCaring to help raise money to adopt Tristan Jacobson, a third-grader who deserves the world. As the Springfield News-Leader reported, when the world heard about his quest and Donnie’s yard sale to raise money for the expensive adoption fees, support poured in.

Selling lemonade for only $1.00, along with cookies and bottled water, Tristan set up shop in the front yard and began campaigning to help raise the money to become officially a son of Donnie Davis. Word got out quickly, and the rest is fate.

As of Saturday, April 23, the Davis family surpassed their $5,000 goal and saw over $14,000 in donations arrive. Not only will Tristan become a member of the Davis family, the extra money raised will go toward his education in the future.

Tristan said of Donnie Davis, “She will be my parent. I’m happy because I have a new mom who loves me.” Donnie seconded this sentiment by adding, “We will make sure this child will forever be ours.”
