2-Year-Old Manages to Save Brother Trapped Under Fallen Dresser
Ricky Shoff wrote on Facebook, “I’ve been a little hesitant to post this. But I feel it’s not only to bring awareness, but it is also incredible. We are so grateful for the bond that these twin brothers share.” He shared what KSAT calls a “heart-stopping video” that’s uncomfortable to watch, but the YouTube upload is gaining a lot of attention for the story it tells and its clear warning to parents.
In the nanny cam video, a child is caught underneath a fallen dresser. His twin looks on in confusion. The pair is only two years old, but watching his brother cry in fear and pain makes the other one use all of his problem-solving skills. He moves around the dresser, trying to figure out how he can maneuver it. Eventually, he’s able to simultaneously shove and lift the large piece of furniture so his twin can slide out.
Shoff certainly found the video alarming once he reviewed the tape, but he wants parents to take note and secure any furniture to the wall that could topple over. Bolting a piece into the wall may seem damaging to the drywall and time-consuming, but there’s really no choice when one realizes what could potentially happen if the furniture isn’t secure.
