With everything that’s happening in the world these days, humor is at a premium. Add to this the fact that epic rap battles seem to be a popular thing, now more than ever, and stepping up to the mic earlier this month were too very unlikely combatants. Fast-food chain giants Wendy’s and Wingstop had a Twitter-based rap battle that left online followers in stitches.

It started simply enough when a viral tweet joked that “GameStop, Wing Stop” was similar to the lyric, “Raindrop, drop top,” from the song “Bad and Boujee” by Migo. From there, Wingstop chimed in with their own rap lyrics, leading a Twitter fan to challenge Wendy’s, which then jumped in with their own bit of limerick. Known for their brutal Twitter wit, Wendy’s had an A-game, no doubt. But, Wingstop was up for the challenge, and fans re-tweeted every step of the way.

Something like 13 tweets/counter-tweets later (all of which can be found here on Bert Williams’ Facebook post), Wendy’s and WingStop are still friends. And, taking it to the next level of funny and still remaining fast friends is something we could all stand to take a note from. Even Texas fan-favorite, Whataburger, jumped into the mix! If you’re into humor these days (and who isn’t?) you can read more on this online throw-down through Buzzfeed and Thrillist, or you can jump onboard and follow both Wendy’s and Wingstop on Twitter.
