The Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon is coming up November 2-5 this year and if you missed running events in the Texas Wine Series (such as the Llano Estacado Winery Half Marathon and Vintage 5K), you’ll want to get your running shoes warmed up pronto!

For the unique chance to run through three Disney theme parks which are night-lit for this very purpose, runners from all over the world sign up for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. The event culminates in an all-night party at the run’s finish line. 2017 marks its seventh year, taking its runners from the starting line at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex though two additional parks: Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Finally, runners will cross the finish line at Epcot. But, then comes even more fun! Runners will get to enjoy fine food and delicious wine at a private party which is hosted at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival! This spectacular culinary finish line party features 25 kiosks filled with wine and food and wines from around the world. Upon registration for the run, half marathoners receive a gift card to use at the party!

The Llano Estacado Winery Half Marathon and Vintage 5K was formerly held in Lubbock, Texas as an annual event up until last year (2016). For those that missed this fun-filled function for wine lovers and runners alike, it was a Texas Wine Series run which also contributed to charity. One of five such runs in the state that showcased the wine industry, it also made proceed donations to local charitable groups in the process. After runners crossed the finish line, they got to partake of a post-race flight of wines and delicious food at the largest winery in the state. Due to an unforeseen family medical complication, this year this event wasn’t able to be hosted. That’s not to say that it won’t again in the near future, however, runners and wine enthusiasts alike are still invited to visit Llano Estacado for its rich winemaking history and support of such local events and charitable groups. Cheers, and happy wine trails!
