Crawfish is a springtime Texas tradition, and among communities along the Texas Gulf Coast, crawfish season and those glorious little mudbugs are celebrated with vigor! Crawfish festivals featuring all things food and fun-related ensue, and aside from family, friends, and an appetite, there’s not much more you need to bring to get in on a good time! The 7th annual Kemah Crawfish Festival is taking place March 24-26, 2017 in Kemah, Texas, featuring all sorts of meals and dishes made from those tasty Texas crawfish (to the tune of approximately 6,000 pounds of cooking per hour!), as well as some great live music for mood. Get yourself some Cajun fare mon cher – look here for a variety of food vendors who’ll be serving up alligator, boudin, and frogs legs!

2. Texas Crawfish & Music Festival

The Texas Crawfish & Music Festival will be held April 29 and 30 this year in Old Town Spring, Texas and will be serving all kinds of crawfish and Cajun food. Featuring fresh boils of the “guest of honor,” as well as good ‘ole Texas barbecue, burgers, snacks and sandwiches, and ice cream for the kids, this festival includes live music, a carnival and midway games, an alligator wading pool, exotic snakes and bird performances (at separate times and in separate locations of course), and much more. Beer and wine will also be available at the festival bars and soda and water at the many of the food vendor booths.

3. Bayou City Cajun Festival

The Bayou City Cajun Festival is now in its 22nd year at Trader’s Village in Houston, Texas, and will feature plenty of freshly prepared authentic Cajun fare, served by the French Quarter Market & Grill Restaurant. April 1-2, 2017, sample such traditional favorites as Crawfish Etouffee, Fried Boudin Balls, Red Beans and Rice, Fried Alligator, Sausage Po-boys, and more thousands of pounds of boiled, spicy crawfish! Trader’s Village also boasts some great zydeco music and some dancing on par with the spiciness of those crawfish!
