J.J. Watt is one of the most well known and respected football players in the league. Not only is he a superstar defensive end on the field for the Houston Texans, but off the field, he scores touchdown after touchdown in giving back to communities around the world. Most recently, he held his 5th Annual Charity Softball Classic in which they have raised “funding in excess of $3,300,000 to 6th – 8th-grade after-school athletic programs and organizations,” shares the  jjwfoundation.org.

“We are looking to reach out to local middle schools that have insufficient funding for after-school athletic programs, or no after-school athletics whatsoever,” shares its Facebook page. With continued support from Watt and his foundation children across the nation will not only receive the financial support but the encouragement to be our next-generation of sports superstars.

In a statement by FOX26, Harden had this to say, “I’ve always been about the community. I’ve always been about people spreading love and joy. So this is an opportunity, not just for one day, but for an entire weekend to kind of touch the city and make sure they feel me and make sure I feel them a little bit,” Harden said. “We’re giving away 13 scholarships to kids in high school to be able to get them to college and not have to worry about anything so they can make their family better.”

Houston Astros All-Star Shortstop, Carlos Correa, is mesmerizing more than just his fans on the baseball field. Correa is making great strides among the community with his involvement with the Houston Children’s Charity (HCC).

Recently, Correa along with HCC and Mattress Firm gave away over 1,000 mattresses to families as part of the “A Better Night’s Sleep,” a program HCC has put on for the last 10 years. Together, they provide these families the opportunity to have a good nights sleep. “At the end of the day, it’s being here sharing times with these families and giving them a better night’s sleep,” shared Correa in an article from www.click2houston.com.

Despite a torn ligament in his left thumb, Correa was still able to carry some of the lighter items such as the pillows and liners to each of the families homes that were chosen for the year’s program.
