Rock Out to 4th of July Concerts Across Texas

Everyone loves a good party, and the 4th of July is the perfect escape to enjoy some good old-fashioned festivals and concerts. With a variety of genres to choose from, you’re sure to come upon a concert that tickles your fancy and gets that boot scoot boogie going in you. Below you’ll find concerts popping up in Texas throughout the weekend and into 4th of July for your enjoyment.

Austin, TexasWillie Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic will be in full swing this Fourth of July presented by Budweiser. Come out and enjoy a full day of music to celebrate America’s birthday at the Austin360 Amphitheater. The star-studded lineup includes:  Willie Nelson & Family; Brantley Gilbert; Jamey Johnson featuring special guest Alison Krauss; Kris Kristofferson; Lee Ann Womack; Shakey Graves; Leon Russell; Jamestown Revival; Cody Johnson; Margo Price; Billie Joe Shaver; Johnny Bush; Ray Wylie Hubbard; David Allan Coe; Asleep at the Wheel; Raelyn Nelson Band; Folk Uke; Dallas Wayne; and Amber Digby, as stated by its website. Gates open at 11a.m.

Bastrop, TexasThe 25th Annual Bastrop Patriotic Festival will be celebrating on Saturday, July 2nd from 4-10p.m. Looking for some homegrown ensembles to liven up the place then you’ll enjoy the sounds of the Bastrop Youth Orchestra and the Main Street American Swing Band. Step back in time with the music of the swing era and enjoy the sounds of the big band greats such as Glen Miller, Benny Goodman, and Duke Ellington to name a few. The festival will take place at Fisherman’s Park 1200 Willow St. Bastrop, TX 78602.

Fort Worth, TexasFort Worth’s Fourth celebrating Freedom 2016 on July 4th. Come out and take in the sights and sounds for a day of fun festivities on the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. Live music from Gary P. Nunn and the largest firework show in North Texas according to its website. Panther Island Pavilion is located at 395 Purcey Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102.

Houston, TexasFreedom over Texas is Houston’s signature Fourth of July celebration held at Eleanor Tinsley Park, 500 Allen Parkway Village. This year Darius Rucker, former lead vocalist of Hootie and the Blowfish, will headline the main stage. Rucker is a GRAMMY® Award winner and a 2009 CMA New Artist of the Year Award winner. Special guest the Eli Young Band will also perform. They are known for such country hits as “Crazy Girl” and “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” stated its website.

Kerrville, TexasRobert Earl Keen’s 4th on the River will be celebrating July 4th at Louise Hays Park. Doors open at noon and live music kicks off at 4pm featuring David Vincent with Danny B. Harvey, The Sean Kendrick Band at 5:15pm, Bruce Robison at 6:30pm, and a free concert headlining Robert Earl Keen @ 8pm, states its website.

Lake Dallas, TexasLake Cities 4th of July is a “one-of-a-kind celebration uniting Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores in celebration of our Nation’s birth,” states its website. Festivities begin 9am at Lake Dallas City Park, 101 E Hundley Dr, Lake Dallas, TX. Texas country rock band Eleven Hundred Springs will perform with Big Gus and Swampadelic opening for them!

Lubbock, Texas- 26th Annual 4th on Broadway @ Mackenzie in Lubbock will be a four-day event celebrating America’s birthday. Recognized as the largest free festival in Texas, according to its website, the 4th on Broadway @ Mackenzie is the place to enjoy a variety of musical talent. On July 2nd catch La Raza on the Plaza Street Dance featuring La Mafia and A.B. Quintanilla y Los Kumbia King Allstarz. July 3rd, Texas Country Street Dance featuring The Turnpike Troubadours and The Dirty River Boys are sure to get the crowd jumping.

New Braunfels, Texas– “A “star-spangled” Fourth of July kicks summer into high gear in New Braunfels,” states its website. The largest Independence celebration in New Braunfels with live music. The following performers are scheduled to appear according to its website:

Gruene Hall:  July 3rd – Gary P. Nunn, South Austin Moonlighters; July 4th – Houston Marchman, Greg Harris & The World Famous Bandini Brothers

Whitewater Music Amphitheater: July 2nd – Eli Young Band with Aaron Lewis; July 3rd – Spazamatics

Lazy L&L Hall: July 3rd – Keen Country Band, July 4th – County Line Band

Phoenix Saloon: July 3rd –Jeffery Ryan Vaughn’s Sunday Music Matinee;  July 4th –Lucas Taylor’s Sunday Evening Songfest.

San Antonio, Texas-The Historic Market Square Freedom Fest 2016 is a spectacular celebration full of good food, drinks, and fun for the whole family. The festival is from July 2-4th with an entertainment lineup featuring Whiskey 2 Step, the Palacios Brothers, and Ruben V and Augie Meyers! The Historic Market Square is located at 514 W. Commerce, San Antonio, TX 78207.

San Marcos, Texas-The July 4th Summerfest kicks off at 6pm in the San Marcos Plaza Park. Traditional live music on the banks of the San Marcos River will include the Adam Johnson Band starting the festival off to a rocking good time at 6:00pm. The headliner Wyzer will follow at 7:30pm playing a variety of genres and old familiars, with a touch of new as stated by its website. Summerfest is located on the banks of the San Marcos River at E. Hopkins Street and N. CM Allen Parkway.

Pick a concert or two and bring the family to enjoy some good ole’ music while relaxing under the stars as the firework displays ring out the day we all celebrate our Nation’s birth!
