April the Giraffe Finally Gives Birth to Yet-to-be-Named Baby Boy
The internet can now breathe a collective sigh of relief. April the giraffe has finally given birth to a healthy baby boy! When the Animal Adventure Park Giraffe Cam went live from upstate New York in February, viewers tuned in hoping to catch the miracle of birth, but most people had no idea that they were in for a few months of a wait. Still, ABC News reports that over a million people saw the special moment live, and fans of the livestream are rejoicing that the baby boy is healthy and happy.
Amazingly, April’s baby boy was standing up after an hour and “galloping” after three! In fact, experts say he’s “very independent” for his age. The webcam is still up and running on YouTube where viewers can see the stunningly cute newborn with his mother. Now, focus shifts to a new burning question – what will his name be? The Animal Adventure Park is offering fans a choice for $1 a vote.
For 10 days, people will submit names, and then for five days, voting will take place on the top names. The funds donated via voting will go to Giraffe Conservation Foundation, Ava’s Little Heroes, and the park itself.
