City of Plano to Hold Huge Public Library Book Sale: A Bargain-Hunter’s Dream

With close to 100,000 paperbacks, hardcovers, DVDs, vinyl records, and CDs for sale, the upcoming sale at the Plano Event Center for The Friends of the Plano Public Library promises to be a bargain-hunter’s dream! Prices will range between 25¢ and $2, and items will include everything from early readers to picture books for the little ones, foreign language books, current adult fiction, and so much more. With something for everyone, the Friend’s Book Sale should be marked on your calendar for the weekend of August 4 to 6 in the City of Plano, Texas!

Now in its 34th year, the Friends of the Plano Public Library sale begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 4 and will be open until 10 p.m. that evening. Admission fees for Friday only will be $5 for individuals and $10 for families, with members of the Friends of the Plano Public Library having early admission on Friday at 5 p.m. as well as access to the sale for free. They will also enjoy a 10 percent discount on all purchases throughout the sale. Those that are interested in becoming a Friends member, can purchase a membership directly at the sale, or visit them online for more information.

The rest of the event is free to all attendees on either day – Saturday or Sunday – and will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. They also welcome shoppers on Sunday for a $10 bag of books…and they provide the bags! A non-profit, membership organization, the Friends of the Plano Public Library has been dedicated to supporting the public library in Plano, Texas, since 2001. They have contributed more than $1.5 million towards the enhancement of library programs and services and welcome others to do so as well through membership, sales purchases, or volunteering.
