The 36th Annual Kerr County Fair is guaranteed to be a blast for the whole family! The fair is one of the Hill Country’s most eagerly anticipated events of the year. Crowds enjoy the bright lights and thrilling rides of the carnival midway, as well as a stock show, cook-offs, and a variety of tasty fried foods. Numerous merchants sell arts and crafts as well.

The Kerr County Fair Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing the citizens of Kerr County and surrounding counties with the enjoyment of a traditional Texas fair. New acts for 2015 include world record holding juggler Bruce Sarafian, a new venue for indoor merchants and the scholarship pageant, and a troupe of dancing canines. An ATM will also be on the fairgrounds this year for your convenience.

The Creative Arts contests include 46 classes in five separate divisions. Quilting, canning, and woodworking are represented among other activities. There’s something for everyone who wants to enter the contests and share their talent.

Returning favorites include the petting zoo, stick horse races, and dances with artist John Christopher Way. The cook off competitions offers up tasty Texas favorites like Jackpot Chili, brisket, beans, and delicious salsa.

The parade starts Saturday, October 24th, at 10 a.m. Downtown Kerrville features plenty of good viewing spots to watch the floats, marching band, and tractors. The Parade route begins at Water and G Street, continues west on Water Street, makes a right on Earl Garrett, and then ends at North and Earl Garrett Streets.

The rodeo also takes place Saturday. It features the always enjoyable Mutton Bustin’ for the kids. The bull riding starts at 7:30 p.m. and is a truly thrilling event. The entry fee is $75 for all you dare devils who want to try for the cash prize.

Check out all the prize winning baked goods, art, and textiles in the exhibit areas throughout the day.

During the fair, a panel of judges will choose the Queen, Princess, and Duchess of the Kerr County Fair Queen’s Court. The young ladies will be awarded scholarships. For the following year, winners will represents Kerr County in various Hill Country parades and functions.

The 36th Annual Kerr County Fair is the perfect way to enjoy a Fall day and night. It takes place October 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
