Dill Pickle Lip Balm is a Thing: Will You be Stocking Up?

With all the talk about dill pickle chips, dill in our beer, and Sonic’s release of last year’s pickle juice slush, it was only a matter of time before dill would eventually break into the beauty industry. Those who relish (har har) the flavor will appreciate dill pickle lip balm.

Lip balm in any flavor or scent is meant to be hydrating. If you enjoy the flavor, you’ll more than likely use the product even more! That’s the premise behind some of these products, which although they may have been originally touted as potential gag gifts for those who love dill pickles, the truth of the matter is that these companies may have stumbled on a marketing gold mine! Having a subtle taste and scent of dill, users of these lip balms won’t hesitate to pucker up when they’re wearing their favorite flavor. But will those on the other end of that pucker appreciate it?! That remains to be seen.

In all honesty, there truly is something about dill or pickles in general. They’re not only delicious, but they tend to set the table for some of our most fulfilling meals. How can you dislike something like that? Their unique blend of sour, saltiness, sweet, and tangy flavors are only dwarfed by their satisfying crunch, which you obviously won’t get from a lip balm. But, really… who’s complaining? Dill also comes with a boatload of health benefits, not the least of which is managing inflammation. Will you get that same benefit from making use of a dill-inspired lip balm? Not likely. But it can’t hurt either!
