This Thanksgiving you’re in for a treat as Disney/Pixar’s latest animated adventure, “Coco” is set to hit the big screen in celebration of  El Dia de Los Muertos-Day of the Dead. Each year the holiday is celebrated on November 1st and November 2nd

A long-standing tradition among the Latino community remembering loved ones who have passed away, Dia de Los Muertos is a day to honor and reflect back on their lives with time-honored traditions and festivities planned in their honor. “Coco” is a refreshing take on the holiday as it takes you on a journey with its main character Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) as “he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history,” shares its Facebook page.

Being compared to the 20th Century Fox 2014 hit animated movie, “The Book of Life,” “Coco” is just another story being shared about this interesting, and time-honored tradition. There are many versions and ways to tell the tale of Dia de Los Muertos, and “Coco” with its charming cast and beautifully animated scenarios will take you down this journey of life into the realm of the unknown we call the afterlife with all its mysteries and unlock the history behind Miguel’s family.

“Directed by Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist “Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”), Disney•Pixar’s “Coco” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2017,” shares its Facebook page. Some of the actors set to lend their voice to the various characters include Benjamin Bratt, Gael García Bernal, Renee Victor, and Edward James Olmos, just to name of few.

The heartwarming tale is sure to become another animated favorite among many, and a tradition to watch in the years to come around the holidays.
