George Strait released the single “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” on February 11. By the time his 30th studio album comes out on March 29, we’re sure this single will already have reached hit status. It’s a dancing tune you’d expect from the King of Country music, co-written with his son Bubba, together with Dean Dillon. As the first track listing on the album “Honky Tonk Time Machine,” it sets a tone his fans have come to know and love – and anticipate.
The new album features 13 songs (12 of which are originals), and Strait co-wrote eight of the tracks, including this new single. He stated that he and long-time collaborator Dean Dillon were writing at Strait’s Texas ranch with his son. Just before wrapping things up, he asked if anyone had anything else they wanted to capture in the process, which is when Bubba said, “Whiskey is the gasoline that lights the fire that burns the bridge.”
Shared on the George Strait YouTube channel, the song has a sound that won’t allow you to sit still. As a fan, you’ll be able to relate to the singer, and if you’re a frequenter of “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar,” you’ll definitely be able to relate to the lyrics! “I’m really excited to have some new music coming out,” George said. “It’s been about two years since I’ve released a record. It was great writing with Bubba and Dean again. I hope everyone enjoys listening to Honky Tonk Time Machine as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Coming just off the heels of the latest release “God and Country Music,” which featured the vocals of his grandson, George Strait is hitting the markets with a one-two-punch. It’s sure to keep his fans tuning in over the long, cool months of winter, waiting for the full album release as springtime approaches. This latest song originally debuted at his Las Vegas concert on December 7, 2018, during which he explained the beginnings of this future dance floor filler.
